Comox Valley Kiwanis Village Society
and
Courtenay Kiwanis Village Society

The Kiwanis Villages are composed of two separate entities, as shown in the title above, and both Villages are geared for low income seniors over the age of 55.

Residents must be able to live independently, and are responsible for their own utilities (electricity, cable, telephone, etc.).  Gardening is encouraged, and Kiwanis Villages has a strict non-smoking policy.

No pets are allowed in the Kiwanis Villages.

The Comox Valley Village is owned and operated by the Comox Valley Village Society, and is composed of 44 units (in duplexes and quadplexes) on the west side of Pidcock Avenue.  Although these units are older and a little smaller than in the other Village, they are meticulously maintained and refurbished after each tenant vacates.  All of these units are slightly or somewhat different from each other, and rents are set according to size and how much they have been remodeled.  Some interior and exterior photos as well as representative floorplans are available in the Photo Gallery.  Free laundry facilities are provided in the Social Hall according to a schedule set for each tenant.

The Courtenay Kiwanis Village is owned by BC Housing, is located on the east side of Pidcock Avenue, is composed of 20 units, and is managed and operated by the Courtenay Kiwanis Village Society.  These units are somewhat larger, and rent is based on percentage of income, as determined by BC Housing.  Some interior and exterior photos as well as a representative floorplan are available in the Photo Gallery. All renovations and expenditures have to be approved by BC Housing.  This Village also has its own free to use laundry facilities, according to a schedule set for each tenant.

The Social Hall and Office are shared by both Village Societies and expenses are paid based on proportion of housing units.   The Social Hall includes a newly renovated kitchen, a large screen plasma TV, restrooms that are being upgraded to be disabled accessible, and there is a billiard room and library.
